Emily Dickinson follows closely as one of the first and most outstanding women writer of all time. Her works revolve in a wide choice of themes ranging from faith to nature to the dark ones like death and immortality. She was considered to be an introvert, and her works gain recognition only after her demise.

In 1854, Oscar Wilde was born. He was a celebrity in London during the Victorian era and considered to be one of the literary geniuses of his time. His sharp wit was made known in his works that included poems such as The Sphinx and The Ballad of Reading Gaol.

Another important figure in the literary world is Robert Frost, who is recognized as one the 20th century main American points. He has received four Pulitzer Prizes mainly for his poetic works. The most famous of which is the Road Not Taken.
