These poets are forever immortal in their works. Their thoughts and dreams and fears are forever impressed upon those who care to read their works. We know of their works and we are familiar with their names. And here's five of the most renowned of all of them.

William Shakespeare : Who hasn't heard of him? Though he lived in centuries past, his poems are still widely read and his dramas are still so relevant even today. His characters has pretty much steeped much of the theatrical plays we have now. After all, who hasn't heard the tragic love story of "Romeo and Juliet"?

Edgar Allan Poe : An American writer and poet who lived and is one of the figure of the American Romantic Movement. He is widely known for having penned classics such as "Annabel Lee", "The Raven" and "The Bells". Aside from this, he is known to write short stories with very morbid and disturbing details.

William Wordworth : Known for immortal works such as "Lucy Gray", "Lyrical Ballads" and "Yarrow River". He is one of the most noted poet during the Romantic Age. And most known for breathing life into fictitious character such as "Lucy Gray" to aid him in his loneliness.

Robert Frost : Who hasn't heard or read of his all time classic "The Road Not Taken"? I'm sure anyone who has taken a bit of literature in school would have known his name because of his literary feats like "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening".

Emily Dickenson : Although she wrote thousands of literary pieces, only a number of her work was ever published during her lifetime. But lucky for us now as we have the luxury of reading masterpieces from her. She mostly kept to herself and was able to pen poems surrounding themes like immortality, faith and nature. Some of her works include "There is Another Sky" and "Because I Could Not Stop For Death".

Most of these poets were never famous in their lifetime. However, the years saw that they were survived with a legacy that lives far longer than they do. And today, we have a culture and arts that's richer and colorful all because of the masterpieces these famous poets has contributed.
